World Art Day: How to Virtually Enjoy Art

It’s hard to imagine a world without art. Art is one of the things that make life worth living and has brought immeasurable joy to people across the globe through many mediums. As the world is navigating the COVID-19 outbreak, many are turning to various mediums of art to stave off anxiety, keep their mental health in check or simply for the sheer enjoyment of it. The beauty of living in the digital age is that you can enjoy a great deal of art without having to leave your home. Here are some of the best ways to virtually enjoy art:

  1. Online exhibitions: The lockdown measures put in place around the world meant that numerous exhibitions, concerts, plays and so on were canceled unexpectedly. The good news is that many of these scheduled events were moved online to give audiences a chance to still experience them. Exhibitions such as Art Basel have viewing rooms online and the Royal Opera House has made classic ballet performances available online to view. These allow you to indulge in the arts while at a safe distance.

  2. Social media: A quick search on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok will reveal a whole world of artists who are posting their creations for the world to see. Take a quick browse through social media and you might just find your new favorite artist.

  3. Home art projects: While it is certainly a good idea to indulge in the art created by others, you can also opt to create your own art at home. There are many arts and crafts tutorials online that can help you to do so and once lockdown is over, feel free to indulge in some of our art or pottery class offers to hone your skills.

Art is all around us to enjoy and this lockdown period presents a great opportunity to indulge in art or create our own!
